The Wire Choir

Three seconds of metalunder the guideway.Recorded by accident.Played once.Forgotten.Later,the same shapethrough a laundromat radio. Not the recording.Later still, from a carwaiting at a red light.Again.A window opensabove the lane.Again.Stopped walking. The wires overheadcarry a low hum.The note sits inside it.Then movespast the corner.Followed for half a block.Lost it.Stood there anyway.Hoping it would come back.
